"The Pond" is inspired by Walden Pond in Concord, Massachusetts. If you're any kind of nature-lover, environmentalist, or enthusiast of American literature, you'll know that this place deeply influenced Henry David Thoreau and his transcendental writing about the importance of the cohesiveness of man and nature. He wrote "Walden Pond" during the two years he spent there in his cabin, completely reliant on the nature that surrounded him.
Not only are his works important to me, but I feel that having this blog title referenced to his work is completely relevant.
